Household and food-service foil
Soft-temper foil in retail and catering rolls, where dead-fold and a continuous barrier are the whole point of the material.
Wrapping, catering, food serviceRaw Materials · Aluminum Products
Foil is bought by thickness, temper and width, and the barrier it provides depends on all three. Household foil and a pharma blister laminate are the same metal at different gauges with a different surface, and the line that runs one will not necessarily run the other.
Four routes cover most of what we quote. Each is a different mill or process route, so the size window and the lead time differ even where the grade looks similar.

Wrapping, catering, food service
Semi-rigid foil in the temper that holds a formed tray or a lid, with the surface finish the filling line needs.
Ready-meal trays, lids, catering pans
Harder temper foil with a heat-seal lacquer, where pinholes and surface consistency matter more than the price per kilo.
Blister packs, strip packs, sachets
Foil as a moisture barrier, a cable shield or a conductive layer, in widths that suit the line.
Insulation, cable wrap, shieldingFoil is quoted by alloy, temper, thickness, width and roll weight. The packing matters as much as the metal: a roll that takes on moisture in transit is scrap at the customer's line.

| Parameter | Range | What decides it |
|---|---|---|
| Thickness | Household 0.006 – 0.03 mm; industrial 0.03 – 0.2 mm | Below about 0.01 mm the foil is fragile and the winding tension decides whether it runs. |
| Width | 200 – 1600 mm, slit to order | The line width plus trim; the slit edge quality decides whether it tracks. |
| Temper | O, H12, H14, H16, H18 | Soft for wrapping and laminating, harder for lids and containers that need stiffness. |
| Alloys | 1235, 8011, 3003, 5052, 8079 | 8011 for packaging, 3003 and 5052 where strength or corrosion resistance is needed. |
| Surface | Mill, coated, embossed, printed | Coating and embossing are in-line processes; the surface is specified with the alloy. |
| Roll form | Coil weight, core diameter and wind direction per order | A roll that is too heavy for the mandrel is unusable regardless of quality. |
Foil performance comes from four things, and three of them are properties of the roll rather than the metal.
A continuous metal layer stops moisture, oxygen, light and bacteria. Pinholes are the failure mode, which is why thickness and surface quality are specified together.
Foil holds from freezer temperatures up to oven heat, which is why the same material appears in freezer packaging and in baking trays.
Soft foil folds and stays folded, which is what makes it usable as a wrap without a closure.
Aluminum returns to the melt without losing quality, and clean foil scrap has real value, which matters where packaging carries a recycled-content target.
Foil orders are won or lost on thickness, width and winding. These are the four points we confirm before a price goes out.
Household wrap, blister laminate, container stock and cable wrap use different tempers and surfaces at similar thicknesses.
1235 and 8011 cover most packaging; 3003 and 5052 come in where strength or corrosion resistance decides.
Width, core diameter, coil weight and wind direction, so the roll mounts on your machine as it arrives.
Coated, embossed or printed, then moisture-proof paper and film so the roll arrives dry and undamaged.
Foil is a packaging material before it is a metal product: the application decides the specification.
Soft temper foil in retail rolls and food-service packs, where dead-fold and barrier are the point.
Harder temper foil with a heat-seal lacquer, where pinholes and surface consistency matter more than the price per kilo.
Semi-rigid foil for ready-meal trays and lidded containers, in the temper that holds a formed shape.
Foil as a moisture barrier in insulation, as a cable shield, and as a conductive layer in electronics.
